How do I submit a migration request?

If you've just purchased a new service and want to migrate your existing site over to Clickhost, you need to submit a Migration Request form from the dashboard.

  1. From the dashboard, click Migration Request on the left-hand side
  2. Select the service related to the migration in the form
  3. In the text area, enter all the relevant information mentioned. Typically we only require the Domain name, cPanel username, cPanel password, and the IP of the server you're hosted on.
  4. Select a time you'd like the migration to be completed.
  5. Hit Submit!

Please note that once the migration is completed you'll need to update the DNS records which can take anywhere from 2-24 hours to fully propagate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you migrate non-cPanel based sites?

Yes, we can migrate from any host. However we do not migrate any add-on or extra domains, we can only migrate the primary domain name.

How long does a migration take?

How long is a piece of string? The reality is it can take anywhere from 5 minutes to a few hours. It depends where your previous host is located (international hosts take longer to download your data), and how much disk your account takes up.

Once the migration is done - what is next?

Once the migration is completed we will email you with a notice that the migration has completed and what DNS changes you will need to make. It's always recommended to check over your data and ensure the migration has been successful.

When can I cancel my old service?

Generally 24 - 48 hours after the migration is completed. It's always best practice to take a backup of your data at your old host before you submit the cancellation. In the event there's an issue, you always have a copy of your own data.
